Sancho Garcés, Rioja, Spain
This winery takes its name from Sancho Garcés, King of the Kingdom of Nájera (which incorporated part of the Rioja Alta and Rioja Media in the 10th century), in tribute to this outward-looking ruler, with these wines symbolising tradition and adaptation to modern times. The wines reflect the distinct character of the region and are produced using traditional techniques, which makes them instantly recognisable as a Rioja from the first sip.
